November 8 is National Indigenous Veterans Day
This day honours the service and sacrifice of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Veterans who have served in Canada’s military from the War of 1812 to modern operations.
Indigenous soldiers brought invaluable skills and bravery to the Canadian Armed Forces. Yet many returned home to face unequal treatment and were denied the same recognition and benefits as other Veterans. We honour their courage, resilience, and contributions, and take time to learn their stories so their legacy is never forgotten.
